 Guidelines For Authors

International Journal of Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (IJAPSR) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published quarterly by Sierra Journals Publisher. The journal publishes original work like research article, review article, case study, short communication, and letter to the editor. The journal covers various subjects related to applied pharmaceutical sciences.

An original submitted manuscript will be reviewed for publication with the perceptive that it is being exclusively submitted to IJAPSR. The manuscript should not be published previously or submitted anywhere.

Authorship Criteria

Authorship credit depends only on broad commitments and participation. Assisting solely in the procurement of funding or the assortment doesn't legitimize authorship.  The study's concept and design, securing of information, investigation, and interpretation of data contribute to authorship credit. General supervision of the research group is not adequate for authorship.

Conflicts of Interest/Competing Interests

All authors must disclose and reveal any conflicts of interest they may have with the publication of the manuscript or an institution that is mentioned in the manuscript and/or is important to the outcome of the study presented.

Patient Consent Forms

Patient’s right to privacy should not be infringed without their informed consent. If not essential, then identifying details such as written or photographs should be omitted if they are not essential. Patient data should never be altered or falsified to attain anonymity. Obtained informed consent should be indicated in the published article.

Ethical Committee Approval

Authors must state clearly in their submission in the material and methods section that the studies they conducted on human participants are with an appropriate ethics committee's approval. Please also look at the latest version of the Declaration of Helsinki, Similarly, authors must confirm that experiments involving animals are adhered to ethical standards and must state the care of animals and licensing guidelines under which the work was performed.

Authorship

All authors must acknowledge that they have read and approved the paper and that they have met the criteria for authorship that they believe that the paper represents honest work and that they can verify the validity of the results reported.

Submission of Manuscripts

All manuscripts must be submitted online through the website http://www.sierrajournals.com/direct/index.php/IJAPSR/login. First-time users will have to register at the site. Registration is free but mandatory. The journal does not charge for submission. If you experience any problems, please contact the editorial office by e-mail at editor@sierrajournals.com Submitted manuscripts that are not as per the “Instructions to Authors,” would be returned to the authors for technical correction, before they undergo editorial/ peer-review.

Generally, the manuscript should be submitted in the form of two parts:

1. First Page File/Covering letter to the editor:

This part (first page) should mention the type of manuscript (original article, case report, review article, Letter to the editor, Images, etc.) title of the manuscript, names of all authors/contributors (with their highest academic degrees, designation, and affiliations), email address of individual author and name(s) of the department(s) and/or institution(s) to which the work should be credited. One or more statements should specify acknowledgments of technical help; and acknowledgments of financial and material support, which should specify the nature of the support. Write the registration number in case of a clinical trial and where it is registered (name of the registry and its URL) and conflicts of Interest of each author/ contributor. The name, address, e-mail, and telephone number of the corresponding author, who is responsible for communicating with the other authors about revisions and final approval of the proofs are to be included.

2. Article File:

The article's main text, beginning from Abstract to References (including figures & tables) should be in this part. This part must not mention the authors' names or initials or the institution at which the study was done or acknowledgments. Page headers/title/running title can include but not the authors’ names. The pages should be numbered consecutively, beginning with the first page of the article file.

The International Journal of Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research request the contributors to kindly adhere to the following requirements:

1. Presentation and Format

Page: A4 Size; Margin: 1" from all four sides; Spacing: Single; Use Uniformly American English; Headings in capitals with numbering. Sub-headings should be numbered following the main heading such as 1, 1.1, 1.1.1, etc. The references cited in the text should be in alphabetical order with parenthesis. The full term of each abbreviation should be mentioned at its first use. Check the manuscript for any spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. If a brand name is cited, supply the manufacturer's name and address (city and state/country). Species names should be in italics.

2. Copies of Any Permission(s)

It is the duty of authors/contributors to acquire permissions for reproducing any copyrighted material.

3. Original Articles

These include studies of screening and diagnostic tests, animal studies, analytical work, process development, protocols, randomized controlled trials, intervention studies, outcome studies, cost-effectiveness analyses, case-control series, and surveys with high response rates. The original articles should be divided into sections with headings,

• Keywords
• Introduction
• Materials and Methods
• Results
• Discussion
• Conclusion
• Acknowledgments
• References

Abstract: A structured abstract is required, which should be divided into sections with the Aim/Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. The context or background for the study should be presented in the abstract and should state the study's objective, basic procedures (selection of study participants, evaluation methods, measurements, analytical methods), main findings (giving specific results and their statistical and clinical significance, if possible), and principal conclusions. Standard nomenclature should be used and abbreviations and references should be avoided. It should be no more than 250 words.

Keywords: Three to six appropriate keywords has to be provided after the abstract.

Introduction: State the purpose, reason, and sum up the justification for the study or observation. Give a description of what is relied upon to be discovered.

Materials and Methods: It should incorporate and depict the following aspects:

Ethics: When reporting studies related to human beings or animals, indicate whether the procedures were following the ethical standards of the responsible committee on human/animal experimentation (institutional or regional) and with the Helsinki Declaration.

Proof for endorsement by a local Ethics Committee (for both human as well as animal studies) must be provided by the authors on demand compulsory. The use of anesthetics and analgesics in animal experimental should give detail clearly. The ethical standards of experiments must be as per the guidelines provided by the CPCSEA. The journal will not consider any ethically unsatisfactory paper. A statement must be included in all research articles on ethics committee permission under the ‘Materials and Methods section.

Study Design:

Description and Selection of Participants: Describe the selection of the experimental/observational participants (patients or laboratory animals) clearly, including eligibility and a description of their procurement.

Technical information: Identify the methods, drugs (including generic name, dose, and route of administration, equipment (give the manufacturer's name and address in parentheses), and procedures in sufficient detail to allow other researchers to reproduce the results. Give references and brief depictions to techniques and methods, including statistical methods; describe new or substantially modified methods, and give explanations behind utilizing them.

Statistics: Present quantify findings with appropriate indicators of measurement error or uncertainty. When data are summed up in the Results section, specify the statistical methods used to analyze them. Characterize statistical terms, abbreviations, and most symbols. Specify the computer software used. Use upper italics for P values (P 0.048).

Results: Present your outcomes in a logical sequence in the text, tables, and illustrations. Emphasize or summarize significant observations. Supplementary materials and other technical detail can be placed in an appendix section. In the Results section, data has to be summarized in numeric derivatives (for example, percentages) and absolute numbers from which the derivatives were calculated, and specify the statistical tests/methods used to analyze them. Use tables and figures; more appropriate is using graphs.

Discussion: It should contain a critical review of the results in light of applicable literature. Incorporate summary of key findings, study question, study design, data collection, analysis and interpretation, controversies raised by this study; and future exploration directions.

Conclusion: Emphasize new and significant outcomes of the study or observations.

4. Review Articles

These articles are ought to be written by individuals who have done extensive work on the subject or are skilled in that field. Other format requirements are the same as that of the research paper. Review articles must be divided into abstract, introduction, results, discussion, and conclusion.

5. Case Reports

New, interesting, and rare cases can be reported. They should be unique, describing an important diagnostic or therapeutic challenge and thus, providing a knowledge base for the readers. Cases with clinical significance or implications will be given priority. These should have the following headings: Abstract (unstructured), Keywords, Introduction, Case report, Discussion, Reference, Tables, and Legends in that order.

6. Letter to the Editor

These should be short and crucial observations. They should be related to articles formerly published in the Journal or views expressed in the journal.

7. References

The authenticity of the referencing information is the responsibility of the authors. Use the Vancouver style of referencing; it must be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are quoted in the text and designated in superscript. Identify references in text, tables, and legends by numerical order. Refer to "Chemical Abstracts" for the proper abbreviations of journal names and use the journal's complete name for non-indexed journals. 8. Tables

Tables with legends must be provided at the end of the text after the references. Tables should not duplicate textual matter and should be self-explanatory. Tables should be numbered consecutively, e.g. "Table 1:", "Table 2:", etc. Footnotes must contain explanatory matter. All non-standard abbreviations that are used in the table should be explained in footnotes. Permission should be obtained for all fully borrowed, adapted, and modified tables and provide a credit line in the footnote.

9. Illustrations (Figures)

Figures should be placed after the references along with tables. They should be numbered consecutively, e.g. "Fig. 1:", "Fig. 2:" etc. Titles and detailed explanations belong to the legends for illustrations. When graphs, scatter-grams, or histograms are submitted the numerical data on which they are based should also be supplied. The source should be acknowledged if a figure has been published elsewhere, and submit written permission from the copyright holder to reproduce the material.

Papers are accepted for publication on the understanding that copyright is assigned to authors and authors retain publishing rights without restriction. This journal is licensed under the CC BY 4.0 license.
