Abstract

Achievement motivation forms to be the basic for a good life. People who are oriented towards achievement, in general, enjoy life and feel in control. Being motivated keeps people dynamic and gives them self-respect. They set moderately difficult but easily achievable targets, which help them achieve their objectives. The purpose of this study is to compare the achievement motivation and family environment of senior secondary student of working and non-working mothers. The sample of the study comprised of 196 students selected randomly from the govt. senior secondary schools of Punjab. Family environment scale and achievement motivation questionnaire were used to collect the data. A significant difference is found in the family environment of working and non-working mothers. The study also revealed the significant difference in the achievement motivation of working and non-working mother
