Abstract

Concrete (cement) is the most widely used building material in the world. But it is also responsible for roughly 7% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions, making it the second-largest industrial emitter behind coal. Technologies to produce sustainable and greener concrete are required to be developed. One way to achieve green concrete is to reduce cement content in concrete. This research deals with the partial replacement of cement by glass powder in construction industry which will reduce the impact on Environment. The glass powder is used as additional material with various percentage,. This results increase in compressive strength, resistance to water and chloride penetration were observed.
