Abstract
In the present investigation, microstructures of pure and strontium doped BaTiO3 were studied using electron back scattered diffraction (EBSD). The compositions were synthesized by using solid state reaction. The presence of single phase was confirmed using X-ray diffraction. Further, synthesized compounds were sintered using two routes, namely, conventional sintering and microwave sintering. Microstructures studied by electron backscattered diffraction revealed the formation of 3 twin boundaries, for both conventional and microwave sintered samples. The fraction of coherent twin boundaries in conventionally sintered BaTiO3 was higher than that in the microwave sintered BaTiO3. Also, the fraction of twin boundaries decreased with increase in strontium dopant concentration for conventionallysintered samples.Downloads
