Presence of tigers in southern Rajasthan-some evidences

Abstract

Tigers were widely present from 1902 to 1956 in Udaipur, Rajasmand, Bhilwara and Chittorgarh districts of southern Rajasthan. During erstwhile time, their number was also good in the wild, but later on, due to increasing anthropogenic pressure tiger became extinct from southern Rajasthan, probably between 1970 to 1980.
