Diploma in engineering an equivalent to intermediate-a state level study

Abstract

Diploma in engineering has been considered as equivalent to intermediate. Though diploma engineers after passing diploma may seek admission in B.Tech. through lateral entry in 2nd year of 4-year duration degree course and science graduates may also seek admission in engineering through lateral entry as similar to diploma holders. Intermediate pass out learners enter in B.Tech. First year of 4 years duration course. Hence it is an urge before the readers that diploma be given the status as equivalent to graduation rather than analogous to intermediate, which is the need of hour.
