Abstract

During an investigation on the bryoflora of Nagaland, India, liverwort, Plagiochila trabeculata Stephani, has been identified as a new addition to the bryoflora of India. The species is characterized by narrowly lanceolate to rectangulate, distant leaves, asymmetrically bilobed apex, 5-10 teeth per leaf, mostly present at apex and elongated median and basal leaf cells with slightly thickened cell wall and distinct trabeculae.
