Abstract

Editing of a scientific journal like International Journal of Tea Science (IJTS) can be frustrating particularly if the editors are intent upon putting their best foot forward in the best traditions of scientific writing to meet the international standards. This issue of the IJTS was almost ready to go for printing in September when it was pulled out from the compositors after identifying debilitating flaws at final proofreading stage. Improving the language of the manuscript and presenting the available information in the best possible format required intensive editing and revision of times. In the meantime, the collection of the scientific abstracts also swelled, which was threatening to make the printing cost prohibitive. Finalization of this issue of the journal was further delayed by lack of support of good copy and technical editors. Notwithstanding these problems of production, the final product is quite satisfying
