Author Guidelines

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS Scope JVPH is a broad based bi-annual journal aimed at publishing high quality basic and applied research on all aspects of veterinary public health. Types of papers published in the journal Articles giving reports of original research, short communication, editorials, letters, book reviews and review articles (from esteemed faculty with significant contribution in that area). Contributions sent for consideration of publication in the journal is understood to imply that the article is original, unpublished, not under consideration of publication else where and authors agree to the order of authorship of article. Submission of articles Manuscripts for publication should be sent to the Editor, Journal of Veterinary Public Health, Division of Veterinary Public Health, Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar-243122 (U.P.) India. Two hard copies should be submitted. On acceptance, author(s) should submit the revised version on CD (Ms-word) along with two hard copies. The disk must be labeled with file name, names of authors and title of article. Accepted articles may also be sent by e-mail: [email protected] Preparation of Manuscript Manuscript should be written in English. Manuscript should be typed on one side of the paper (A4 size) with wide margins on all sides and double spacing throughout. Every page of manuscript (except title page) should be numbered. The manuscript should be organized as detailed below - Title page, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussions (Results and discussions should preferably be combined), Acknowledgements (if any), References, Tables/figures along with their captions. Title page: The title page should include Title of paper, Name (s) of the author(s) with complete address (es), present address (es) of author(s), if any. The corresponding author should be identified with an asterix (*), E-mail address, phone and fax number of corresponding author. Abstract: It should be clear and descriptive with not more than 200 words. It should have a brief account of materials and methods used, results and discussion followed by conclusions so that there is no need to read the article except for details. Introduction: It should be a brief account of the problem or objective of the experiment supported with review of literature pertinent to the problem. Materials & Methods: This section should give in detail account of the animals, materials, methods and experimental design employed in the study. Normally citation of a reference from where the technique(s) have been used is sufficient. However, the modifications made should be described so as to make it adaptable or replicated by others. The statistical methods used, if any, should be clearly stated. Results: A brief but clear account of the results obtained should be given which may be supported with table(s) and / or figure(s). The table(s) should be self-explanatory with appropriate title. All weights and measurements should be given in metric units. The tables should be given on a separate paper. Discussion: Avoid repetition of the results. Discuss and relate the findings of the experiment with others and highlight limitations and / or achievements of the experiment. For line drawings, black water proof ink on a smooth paper should be used. All photographs should be on a glossy paper of good quality. All line drawings and photographs should have legends on a separate sheet. References: Citation of the references in text should be as followsa) Three or more than 3 authors : Jones et al. Ph.D. Thesis, Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, India. Short Should not exceed 4 printed pages (2000 words) and should not have more communications: than one table, figure or photograph. It should be written without headings, however, methods and results should be adequately described. Charges for colour photographs Author(s) will have to pay extra charges Rs. 1000/- per plate for the colour photographs. Reprint Charges It is mandatory to purchase 25 reprints of the published article. The cost of the reprints will be Rs. 600/- for up to 4 pages and Rs. 150/- per subsequent page.
